One ticket sold in Illinois matched all six numbers in Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing, winning a jackpot estimated at $1.04 billion, according to lottery officials. The cash option is an estimated $450.5 million.
The winning numbers on Aug. 12, 2026, were 4, 26, 66, 67 and 69, with Powerball 9 and a 2X Power Play.

A run that lasted all summer
The jackpot started at $20 million on May 2 and rolled over through 44 drawings before Wednesday’s win. It went into the drawing advertised at $1 billion and grew to $1.04 billion with late ticket sales.
Other big winners
Five more tickets matched all five white balls, according to Powerball’s official draw results: a $2 million Power Play winner in Massachusetts and $1 million winners in Arizona, California, Florida and North Carolina. Lottery officials said more than 3 million tickets won some prize in the drawing.
What happens next
The winner hasn’t been publicly identified. The jackpot resets to $20 million for Saturday, Aug. 15.
